Dark Legacy

Dark Legacy by Anthony Pietromonaco is a short film set in the Star Wars universe with an impressive choreography by Philip Tan (Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean). This short film, which explore the darkness of the Force, could well be the prologue to a larger story. Despite its simple plot, the strength of its protagonists and its visual quality make it highly enjoyable and essential for Star Wars fans.

Pese a su sencilla historia, la fuerza de sus protagonistas y su calidad visual lo hacen altamente disfrutable e imprescindible para los fans de Star Wars.

The last padawan

Third short of this posts dedicated to Star Wars. “The Last Padawan” by Jesper Tønnes, with a magnificent cinematography, a lot of classic style in some of the shots, and performances, tells the story of a young jedi who has lost his master but who is still on the path of the force. With a very remarkable duel between the villain, great Bo Thomas, and the protagonist, Jesper Tønnes himself, “The Last Padawan” becomes a good representative of the spirit of Star Wars.

Tercer cortometraje de la serie de entradas dedicadas a Star Wars. “The last padawan” de Jesper Tønnes, con una magnífica fotografía, que bebe de un estilo clásico en algunos de los planos, e interpretaciones, narra la historia de un joven jedi que ha perdido a su maestro pero que sigue en en los caminos de la fuerza. Con un muy destacable duelo entre el villano, genial Bo Thomas, y el protagonista, el propio Jesper Tønnes, “El último padawan” se torna un un buen representante del espíritu de Star Wars.

Exile Ep 1

We follow with another short film set in the Star Wars universe, “Exile. Episode 1” by Noel Braham and Pokey Spears, official selection of the Disney Star Wars Fan Film Awards, tells of the hunt for the Jedi by the Empire. Choreographies that don’t need jumps and pirouettes to be spectacular where it emphasizes the use of the force by a disturbing villain, magnificently interpreted by Pokey Spears. Add a photograph with really impressive planes, we have a short film of which one can only hope that the EP1 is the indication of a series that has a lot of potential.

[Y seguimos con otro cortometraje ambientado en el universo Star Wars, “Exile. Episode 1” de Noel Braham y Pokey Spears, selección oficial de los Disney Star War…s Fan Film Awards, narra la caza de los Jedi por parte del Imperio. Unas coreografías que no necesitan saltos y piruetas para ser espectaculares donde destaca el uso de la fuerza por un villano inquietante, magníficamente interpretado por Pokey Spears. Si a todo ellos le añadimos una fotografía con planos realmente impresionantes, tenemos un cortometraje del que solo cabe esperar que lo de EP1 sea el indicio de una serie que tiene mucho potencial.]

hoshino

As in all genres, from time to time a short film stands out especially for its great quality. This is the case of Stephen Vitale’s “Hoshino”, a Star Wars fan film, who has left us open-mouthed. Stephen exudes mastery behind the camera and directs great performances of Anna Akana and Tim Mckernan in a very careful short film, with incredible visual effects and a magnificent cinematography.

Como en todas los géneros, de vez en cuando un cortometraje destaca especialmente por su gran calidad. Este es el caso de “Hoshino” de Stephen Vitale, que nos ha dejado con la boca abierta. Stephen destila maestría detrás de la cámara y dirige unas interpretaciones geniales de Anna Akana y Tim Mckernan en un cortometraje muy cuidado, con increíbles efectos visuales y una fotografía magnífica. Han Solo: A Smuggler’s Trade

We’ve already watched the first trailer of Star Wars VIII and, as we are true fans, let’s start the week with a Star Wars short film.

Keith Allen directs “Han Solo. A smuggler’s trade”, a story which perfectly fits with this beloved character. Jamie Costa performs an amazingly accurate Han Solo, and has a great cinematography and direction background. An actual Star Wars adventure, which counts, indeed, with Doug Jones’s participation (El laberinto del Fauno, Hellboy)

[Ya hemos podido ver el primer tráiler de Star Wars VIII y, como somos muy fans, esta semana empezamos a compartir una serie de cortometrajes ambientados en el universo Star Wars.  Keith Allen dirige “Han Solo, a smuggler’s trade”, una historia que encaja perfectamente con el personaje. Arropado por una fotografía y dirección excelentes, un Jamie Costa que interpreta genialmente a Han Solo. Una auténtica aventura de Star Wars que cuenta además con la particpación del increíble Doug Jones (El laberinto del Fauno, Hellboy)]

Kara

“Kara”, by Joe Sill, is a short film set -and very well, though- in the Star Wars universe. It’s a fan film that triumphed on the Internet as soon as it was released. With a powerful cinematography and excellent performances, Kara could be the beginning of a bigger adventure. But this small sample is more than enough to witness Sill’s ability to tell a touching Star Wars story.
“Kara” de Joe Sill, es un cortometraje ambientado, y muy bien, en el universo Star Wars. Un “fan film” que arrasó en Internet cuando apareció. Con una poderosa fotografía, unas excelentes interpetraciones y un montaje magnífico, Kara bien podría ser el principio de un aventura mayor, pero con lo que nos ofrece es suficiente para ver la maestria de Joe en contar una bonita historia de Star Wars.

Rebel Scum

We are in the year of the Force so the short film that I bring you today is more than appropriate. “Rebel Scum” by Timothy Van Nguyen tells the story of a rebel pilot shot down during the Battle of Hoth struggling to survive in the inhospitable planet.
Filmed in Canada at -30ºC, with a gorgeous cinematography and without  digital, techniques resorting to stop-motion, this film is a delight for those who are fans and those who are not.

[Estamos en el año de la Fuerza asi que el corto que os traigo hoy es más que apropiado. “Rebel Scum” de Timothy Van Nguyen nos cuenta la historia de un piloto rebelde derribado durante la batalla de Hoth que lucha por sobrevivir en el inhóspito planeta.
Rodado en Canada a -30º, con una fotografía magnífica sin técnicas digitales y recurriendo al stop-motion, este cortometraje es una delicia para los que son fans y los que no.
